Privacy Policy
Updated
I’m Daniel Wykes, a freelance web developer. I’m responsible for how this website uses your personal information. You can contact me about privacy at workwith@danielwykes.co.uk.
Enquiries and emails
If you use the migration form, I receive your email address, current website URL, migration scope and destination platform choice. If you email me directly, I receive your email address and any details you choose to share.
I use this information to reply, assess the work and prepare an estimate. For a request about hiring me, I use it to take steps towards a contract at your request. I use my legitimate interests to respond to general messages and keep the site and form secure.
Cloudflare hosts the website and processes connection information such as IP addresses to serve and protect it. Resend sends form submissions to my email. Porkbun forwards them to my Gmail inbox. These services may process information outside the UK. Contact me for details of the safeguards that apply.
I keep enquiry emails while I’m dealing with the request and afterwards for as long as needed to follow up or resolve a dispute. If we work together, I keep records as needed for the project and any legal or accounting obligations.
Cookies, analytics and embedded videos
The site uses your browser’s local storage to remember whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies for 90 days.
If you allow Analytics, Google Analytics measures how visitors use the site. Google receives information such as the pages you view, your approximate location, browser and device type, and where the visit came from. Analytics uses first-party cookies, _ga and _ga_0QV6TTLJRE, to distinguish browsers and remember session information. The site sets them to expire after 90 days.
Analytics runs on the basis of your consent. I use it to understand site usage. The tag is configured without advertising personalisation, and the migration form does not send your enquiry details to Google Analytics. Google may process analytics information outside the UK. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Bunny delivers project clips as they come into view. The homepage showreel also loads as it comes into view. Your browser receives the video from the Webflow CDN used by We Are Pie. These providers receive connection information, such as your IP address, to deliver the video. You can watch project videos whether you accept or reject analytics cookies.
You can change your Analytics choice at any time using Cookie settings here or in the footer. Rejecting Analytics stops future measurement in this browser and removes this site’s Analytics cookies.
Your privacy rights
You can ask for a copy of your personal information, ask me to correct or delete it, or ask me to restrict how I use it. In some circumstances you can object to its use or ask for it to be provided in a portable format. You can also withdraw consent for Analytics at any time.
To exercise your rights, email workwith@danielwykes.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
